The weather’s been horrible lately.

It’s been raining cats and dogs nonstop for the last two days.

My backyard is starting to look like an animal shelter.

  1. LOL

rain? OMG iw ould take rain over this, it is snowing snowing and will snow again!! it was -16 degrees outside…YUCK my lungs hurt.

  2. defluffe says:

You clearly don’t live where I live. Our animal shelters are out of business because all the civilians are desperately keeping all the damned cats’n’dogs they have in huge metal tanks, and only really letting them out at dusk.

(I actually lost sight of my metaphor for a moment. I think I did it right.)

  3. Joy says:

LOL, good one! Rain??? No snow there??

  4. leakelley says:

Maybe you should line your backyard with giant bags of Purina Dog Chow as sandbags?

  5. Doraz says:

ROFL…You’re a funny guy! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Appreciate it!

  6. TheDeeZone says:

lol Are you getting more dogs or cats? Hey things for stopping by again.

  7. London says:

I’ll take the emo approach to persistent rain and align myself with Garbage…

To coin the old phrase, “don’t step in a poodle!” I know, bad…bad, bad Delaney…lol!

there is some interesting stuff on “raining cats and dogs” on wikipedia (I know, I have an addiction!) I like this one:
In 16th century Europe when peasant homes were commonly thatched, the home was constructed in such a manner that animals could crawl into the thatch and find shelter from the elements, and would fall out during heavy rain.

ps. I went through a time when I listened to Easy/lucky/free a zillion times.

  10. Amelie says:

You are welcome for the dancing. Just don’t record yourself doing so and post it on youtube, or if you do, please post said video in my blog. 🙂

Remember that season of the simpsons where the voices changed? What happened?

  11. V says:

Oh, I wish I had the rain, I love it. Here it is just freaking cold–below zero temps, the coldest it has been in my area in about 30 years. Yippy (not)! So, would you like to trade? HAHA…

By the way, thank you much for commenting on my blog, I really do appreciate it. I think I will blogroll you, your entries I have read so far have really made me laugh, and I surely need that!! Hope to see you around my blog again as well!

  12. 2twentythree3 says:

LOL where do you get this humor from?
thanks for another you ‘brighten my day’ moment! xx

  13. Susi Spice says:

will you need to build at ark soon?

  14. Otto Mann says:

Susi Spice: it’s funny because I actually WAS going to add a bit about building an ark at the end of this entry, haha.

If I do build an ark, I’ll try to start gathering two of every animal as soon as possible.

Well, except for cats and dogs.

We should have plenty of them after this thing is over.

and thanks to everyone else for the kind comments, it means a lot. 🙂

  15. amandagibbs says:

I would take the raining of cats and dogs over the raining of Ice pellets and “flakes of snow” that shut down this city. Send it my way so it can clean up the salt. LOL

  16. kacook says:

    You’re hilarious. Great blog.

  17. My fiance loved this one…mostly because he want’s to be a vet. So when we get married, our backyard WILL look like an animal shelter 🙂
